Thailand

Thailand, the country making almost every young adult’s travel bucket list, is a place full of wonder and adventure. It’s capital has been a party destination for students in that area of the world for a while, but its beaches and various islands are becoming a worldwide obsession for their economic, awe-inspiring beauty! The best time to head to Thailand is from January to March, for the prices are moderate compared to high season, the weather is nice, with little rain, and calm waters.

Bangkok is the ideal beginning and end of your ultimate Thailand trip since it is the main transport hub for the country. Start your partying on Khao San Road, infamous for touristic nightlife. You should also visit some floating markets there, like Amphawa and Damnoen Saduak, as well as its impressive monuments, like the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, both beautiful Thai temples.

If you're an animal lover, head on over to Chiang Mai, a city home to the Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing tortured elephants. There, you can learn about , bathe, and feed the elephants. There are magnificent temples all over Thailand, and in Chiang Mai, a great one to see is Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, located on the mountain overlooking the city.

If you're looking for seclusion, look no further than Chiang Dao, a secluded mountain town, where you can relax, hike mountains, and explore caves.

When it comes to booking an island vacation, Thailand gives you plenty of islands to choose from. One of the most popular islands in Thailand is Phuket, the largest island on the Andaman Sea. Some of Phuket’s greatest beaches are Patong, Karon, Bang Tao, and Kamala Beach, and they all have plenty of watersports that you can try! On the island, it is best (and cheapest) to get around via motorbike if you know how to ride one, but lots of hotels and restaurants offer shuttle services as well.

Koh Phi Phi is pretty much referred to as Thailand’s party island. Visitors tend to engage in diving, snorkeling, cliff jumping, and boat trips to nearby islands like Koh Phi Phi Ley, an island that attracts young, sophisticated tourists. On Koh Phi Phi, hang out at beach bars, watch Thai dancers juggle fire, and dance all night long with fellow vacationers! The movie The Beach was filmed on its Maya Bay, and you can also take boat trips to nearby islands!

Another great island is Koh Chang (Koh in Thai means island). It is a relaxing paradise for backpackers, where you can stay in a beach hut for about $3/night! It is less touristy than Phuket, and has three superb beaches, White Sand Beach in the north, Lonely Beach in the South, and Klong Prao, the island’s longest beach right between the two! It is the perfect place to scuba dive or trek through the jungle.  Another relaxing island is Koh Lanta, perfect for sunbathing, swimming in the ocean, and far from the party scene. It encompasses numerous, picturesque, little islands, and is home to many nature reserves, and pretty isolated beaches.
